Hostgator and question about naming my website?

Ok so I have asked a lot of questions about this here but I just want to make sure that I am getting into a good host and getting a good name for my website that i am happy with. So first is hostgator a good hosting serivice? And finally I wanted jaysblog.com but it was taken (of course) so I need other suggestions something similiar to jaysblog.com. Thanks in advance!

    First of all, yes hostgator is a very good webhost and is very reliable. It is the only webhost that I use and recommend.
