Wordpress 2.7 on hostgator servers, installing plugins, Do I have to unzip files before I FTP to public_html?

Also, after FTP, do I have to unzip files before I put them in my sites plugin directory, or can I just drop and drag the folder? Thanks.

Not familiar with that hosts servers, or the need to manually upload plugins for Wordpress, but generally you unzip files before uploading them to your server.

On our servers, our free Wordpress is installed with just ‘one click’.
